Project Overview
Boyne Resorts is one of the most complex UX and UI design challenges undertaken: creating a comprehensive design system capable of supporting 16 distinct resort websites while maintaining brand consistency and operational efficiency. Working in collaboration with Evans Hunt Agency, this project required developing a scalable framework that could adapt to diverse resort personalities across international destinations.
The challenge was creating a unified digital ecosystem for 16 unique resort properties, each with its own character, target audience, and operational requirements, while ensuring Boyne Resorts cohesion and supporting multiple languages and currencies for international properties.

UX&UI
Comprehensive UX Research & Strategy
Our UX design process began with extensive research across 16 unique resort properties, each serving distinctly different audiences from ski enthusiasts and families to golf travelers and luxury retreat guests. We conducted comprehensive stakeholder interviews with resort managers, marketing teams, and operations staff to understand the nuanced operational requirements and guest expectations at each property. This research phase included detailed analysis of existing user journeys, competitive analysis within the hospitality industry, and technical assessment of content management requirements.
Modular Design System Architecture
We developed a sophisticated, modular design system with flexible UI components that could adapt to dramatically different resort personalities while maintaining overarching brand consistency. The system included a comprehensive component library configurable for different resort types and seasonal variations, standardized content templates for common resort content types (accommodations, activities, dining, events), and a responsive grid system that worked seamlessly across all device types and resort contexts.
Individual Resort User Flow Mapping
Critical user flow mapping ensured seamless experiences across diverse operational workflows—from ski lift ticket purchases and equipment rentals to golf course bookings and spa reservations—while preserving each destination's unique character and operational requirements. Each of the 16 resorts required customized journey mapping that respected their individual workflows while maintaining consistency in core user interactions across the entire Boyne ecosystem.
Inn at Bay Harbor - Lodging User Flow (Work in Progress)
This detailed user flow diagram maps the complete booking journey for guests at Inn at Bay Harbor, one of Boyne's premium resort properties. The wireframe demonstrates our systematic approach to understanding and optimizing each step of the reservation process, from initial accommodation browsing through final booking confirmation. This work-in-progress document showcases the iterative design process used to ensure seamless user experiences across all 16 resort properties while accommodating the unique operational characteristics and guest expectations of each location.
Big Sky Resort - Packages & Promotions Page Design
This comprehensive design mockup illustrates how our modular design system was applied to Big Sky Resort's packages and promotions content. The wireframe demonstrates the flexible component architecture that allows each resort to showcase their unique offerings—from ski packages and equipment rentals to summer activities and family experiences—while maintaining consistency with the overall Boyne brand experience. This example highlights how the design system accommodates varying content types, seasonal promotions, and different resort personalities while ensuring optimal user experience across all touchpoints.

Systems
Technical Architecture & Multi-Platform Integration
Working with Evans Hunt Agency, we architected a sophisticated unified technical framework capable of supporting 16 distinct resort websites while accommodating vastly different operational requirements across Boyne's diverse portfolio. The technical challenge was immense: creating a modular system that could preserve critical legacy integrations for established resorts while seamlessly implementing modern booking engines, property management systems, and customer relationship platforms for properties ready to adopt new technologies.
Legacy System Preservation & Modern Implementation
One of the most complex aspects involved managing varied technology ecosystems across different resorts. Several established properties had existing third-party integrations that were mission-critical to their operations—from specialized ski lift management systems to golf course booking platforms—all of which needed to be maintained within the new framework. Simultaneously, other properties were positioned to adopt cutting-edge technological solutions, requiring seamless integration of modern booking systems and real-time data management tools.
Scalable Framework Development
Our technical solution created a flexible foundation supporting multiple booking engines, property management systems, and real-time data feeds across international properties with different currencies and languages. The architecture enabled consistent performance standards while allowing extensive resort-specific customizations, ensuring efficient maintenance and future scalability. Critical components included dynamic content management workflows, integrated payment processing for international transactions, real-time condition and availability data feeds, and performance optimization for image-heavy resort content.
Comprehensive User Flow Mapping
A fundamental component of the systems work involved detailed user flow mapping for each of the 16 resort properties. Each resort had unique operational workflows—from ski lift ticket sales and equipment rentals to golf course bookings and spa reservations—requiring customized user journey mapping while maintaining cross-platform consistency. We mapped integration points where third-party systems connected with the new framework, ensuring seamless data flow and user experience continuity across all touchpoints.
