Project Overview
The Glassbowl project involved integrating features from Fishbowl, an acquired app, into Glassdoor's existing ecosystem during a comprehensive brand refresh. This complex integration required seamless merging of two distinct user experiences while maintaining consistency across app, mobile web, and desktop platforms. The project focused heavily on design system implementation and stakeholder communication to ensure smooth feature adoption.
Key integrations included an activity feed, enhanced onboarding flows, profile enhancements, and identity management systems that support multiple user representation methods including anonymous usage. The challenge lay in adapting Fishbowl's features to fit Glassdoor's existing architecture while communicating the importance of design system consistency to stakeholders who weren't always familiar with its value.

UX&UI
The user experience design focused on creating intuitive flows for the newly integrated Fishbowl features within Glassdoor's familiar interface. We conducted extensive user testing to understand how users would navigate between the existing Glassdoor functionality and the new activity feed, onboarding, and profile enhancement features.
The UX work involved designing seamless user flows that felt native to Glassdoor while preserving the unique value propositions that made Fishbowl successful. This included creating intuitive navigation patterns for the activity feed, designing progressive onboarding that introduced users to new features gradually, and developing profile enhancement flows that supported multiple identity representation methods.

Systems
The system architecture for Glassbowl required extensive design system work to ensure consistency across the integrated features. We developed comprehensive component libraries that could support the new activity feed, onboarding flows, and profile enhancement features while maintaining Glassdoor's refreshed brand identity.
The technical implementation involved creating reusable components for identity management, supporting multiple user representation methods including anonymous interactions. We established clear data structures and CMS integrations to support the new features, ensuring scalability and maintainability across all platforms (app, mobile web, and desktop).
