Project Overview

Workforce is a comprehensive product design and UX project for a new B2B application by Fullstory. Over the course of a couple years, I worked with the team to bring numerous new features to the app, conducting usability testing, talking to customers, and presenting work to key stakeholders throughout the company.

Originally called Wayfinder, this separate offering from the core Fullstory software suite eventually became part of the core offering to Fullstory customers after great adoption and growth, demonstrating the success of the user-centered design approach.

Comprehensive User Research & Testing

I conducted many rounds of usability testing and talked directly to customers to understand their needs and pain points. This user-centered approach informed all design decisions and helped ensure that new features would actually solve real problems for users.

Stakeholder Communication & Presentation

Presenting work to key stakeholders in the company required clear communication about design decisions and their impact on user experience. This process helped build understanding and support for user-centered design practices throughout the organization.

B2B Application User Experience

The user experience design focused on creating intuitive interfaces for complex B2B workflows while maintaining consistency with Fullstory's overall design language. The design needed to serve both new users and existing Fullstory customers who were adopting the new features.

Design System Development & Management

I created and managed a small design system for Workforce that lives inside and builds on top of the larger Fullstory design system. This approach ensured consistency while allowing for the specific needs of the Workforce application.

AI Integration & Feature Development

As AI rapidly emerged as a new paradigm in SaaS, we began integrating AI-powered features into the app. This required careful consideration of how AI functionality would enhance rather than complicate the user experience, ensuring that new features felt natural and useful.

Platform Evolution & Integration

The project involved the evolution of Workforce from a separate offering to part of the core Fullstory platform. This required careful planning and design to ensure smooth integration while maintaining the unique value proposition that made Workforce successful.

I did some light visual design work, designing icons and small graphical elements while the main brand team handled the larger, more systemic visual design language. This collaborative approach ensured visual consistency while allowing for specialized design work where needed.

B2B Interface Design

The visual design focused on creating clean, professional interfaces that would work well in business contexts. The design needed to be both functional and aesthetically pleasing while maintaining consistency with Fullstory's overall brand identity.

Icon Design & Visual Consistency

I created custom icons and visual elements that would work across the application while maintaining consistency with the broader Fullstory design system. This required careful attention to detail and understanding of how visual elements would be used in different contexts.
